Organisational background
Ash Tree Vets was established a century(!!) ago and has evolved dramatically in that time. We have embraced the changing world of veterinary and are aware of the challenges it poses. We have become part of the wider Vet Partners Group, who have a supportive, collaborative, respectful culture.
We are based in Leicestershire, which in truth, was never an area I paid much attention to.....as a Londoner, anything north of, London, didn't really exist. However, it is a beautiful part of the world, with easy access to most of the country (I suppose the joy of being in the Midlands).
The team is now made up of 11 vets, who work an array of hours, from very part time, to full time, recognising that life outside of work is key. OOH is supported by two local hospitals, again, to ensure that our clients get the same level of care 24hrs/day and that staff don't burn out. We strive to ensure our patients get the best service from us and we care hugely about our clients.
We are an incredibly close knit team (despite totalling nearly 50) We socialise outside work, we have summer parties, we have weekends and holidays away with each other (not compulsory!) We are colleagues but also friends. We have Fun Day Fridays, much cake (one of our nurses has her own Bakery Business) inter team pumpkin contests......we laugh a huge amount!

'Supportive, Collaborative, Respectful, Approachable, Dedicated' are the core values of Vet Partners, reflected by the entire team ethos at Ash Tree. We are committed to providing our patients the highest standard of care, but also to support each other in life, both inside and outside of the workplace.
We truly work as a team, supporting each other, each and every day. We teach, share ideas, try and improve our skill set on an ongoing basis. We respect that we are a diverse team of individuals but all with a common goal. We are dedicated to looking after one another’s well-being. Management has an open-door policy and welcomes constructive criticism and feedback.

We are a busy first opinion practice, with a diverse caseload, satiating most interests! However, the individuals within the practice make it truly special.
We all work incredibly hard and are very dedicated. However, we ensure that life outside of work is treasured; we only get one life.
Someone who is committed to being part of a team, who is eager to learn, who values being part of a diverse group of individuals.
Testimonial From Narumi, Previous New Graduate at Ash Tree:
“I started at Ash Tree as a new graduate and I could not have asked for a better practice. The staff is amazing, everyone is very friendly and there is always a positive atmosphere. It is a very supportive practice with vets who are always willing to teach and there is always someone around to ask for help. The nurses are also very experienced with a wealth of knowledge.
The caseload is varied with good exposure to lots of different surgeries and medical cases which are worked up to the highest level. The clinical directors are always there for you, they ensure you are fully supported and provide ongoing effort to understand your interests and goals to support you through it.
The management of the rota and day-to-day is well set up, you always feel like you are been looked after well and this allows for good work–life balance. I have grown so much in the time I was there, and it has been a great learning experience. It is an ideal practice for a new graduate to start, I had to move for overseas relocation but if I had the chance, I would be back in a heartbeat!’
