Organisational background
- We are a long-standing three-site practice in Belfast. Our branches are located at Crumlin, Lisburn and Glengormley.
- Traditionally a mixed practice, we transitioned to small animals only in December 2021.
- Our team consists of seven vets, eight nurses, and 12 support staff.
Organisation aims & mission
- We aim to bring people together to provide an excellent standard of care for our patients.
- The goal is healthy pets and happy owners.
We dare.
- We encourage innovation that helps improve the standard of care we offer our patients.
- Generous CPD budgets and support for vets wanting to pursue certificates allow the expansion of clinical skills. To ensure all that CPD/cert knowledge can be used in practice, we also heavily invest in equipment. We recently added new orthopaedic kit and a doppler ultrasound machine to our equipment (making both our surgical and medical vets very happy!)
We care.
- Our aim is to have happy patients, happy clients, and most importantly happy staff.
- Work-life balance is important, which is why we have moved much of our on-call to Vets Now and can offer flexible working hours.
- We have generous benefits packages including Vitality health insurance, increased holidays based on length of service, and enhanced maternity and paternity pay.
We share.
- We encourage sharing of knowledge and techniques which allows personal and professional growth alongside increased job satisfaction.
Our high staff retention rate speaks volumes with our recent new grad still being with us five years later. There is a great working environment with good relationships between our teams.
Our jobs are hard at times and we enjoy having a laugh with each other when we can, and the support we offer each other is second to none.
We practice a no-blame culture and are more interested in the "why" and "how" aspects of when things don't go to plan as opposed to focusing on the "who".
Our team is incredibly supportive and between the seven vets we currently have, there is a wealth of knowledge and experience that they are more than happy to share.
We encourage our team to push their own boundaries and try new things at their own pace, with other members of our team available to lend a hand or some words of encouragement if needed. We welcome recent graduates, anyone who has been away from the profession for a while, or those just looking to change to a more supportive environment.

A motivated, enthusiastic individual with a can-do attitude would be the perfect addition to our team. Our staff here genuinely love their jobs and take pride in doing it, so someone who can match that energy, and have a bit of ‘craic’ while doing it, would be fantastic.
Surgical confidence would be an advantage but not essential. We are happy to support those who may take time getting into the swing of surgery, such as new grads or people returning from a career break.
