A long time ago we started as a purely large animal veterinary practice by Harvey Robertson & Jim Orr. It has been under the current director, Catriona Hastie, for 11 years now. We are a mixed practice now but still proudly independent.
The practice is based in the small town of Maybole, in the Carrick Valley, South Ayrshire. We would be well placed for someone who enjoys outdoor pursuits and being part of a community. We are within a close proximity to Ayr and 1 hour from Glasgow. The premises itself is relatively new. We moved into our new premises in May 2018. We have a full in-house Idexx lab, an ultrasound machine, endoscopy, digital x-ray & a brand new digital dental x-ray machine.
Our aim is to provide exceptional high class care with a local feel. We pride ourselves on knowing our clients and our clients knowing us.
We value team work and and the fact we are a local business that is here for the local people. We all chip in for one another and put care for one another & clients at the centre of what we do. We offer EAP for staff & are a close knit team. The clients like to come in and talk to us and get to know us. You won’t get down the street for lunch without a little blether with one of them!
We are friendly & encouraging. We are also in a stage of looking at new ways of flexible working and how we operate as a business so it is an exciting time to come on board. We encourage thinking outside the box and welcome a fresh perspective.
Due to the above, and the times of change, we would ideally like someone with some experience, but if you don’t have much experience we are happy to support in every way we can. We want a team player, with a bit of savvy about them. Someone who is looking for a long term placement and is conscientious.
